Welcome to Camp Muskoka Outdoor Education Leadership Centre

When you go on a Camp Muskoka overnight school trip you can expect a once in a lifetime experience for students as they take part in a variety of exciting activities, making memories, and forging greater bonds with their classmates. After delivering school programs to more than 100,000 Ontario students, we can effectively guarantee this Camp Muskoka overnight trip will be one of your students’ best school memories.

The Adventure...

Part of the magic of the Camp Muskoka experience is being in this safe, comfy and cozy new place, with everyone you see everyday, where you experience several days together working and developing as a team. Our nurturing staff will guide students through a variety of community initiatives, team building and recreational activities all designed to bring out the best in everyone.

The coordinating teacher from each school, along with their colleagues and principal will select the activities the students will participate in. Each school will have a customized itinerary to meet their community’s needs and goals for the trip. Whether your students are enjoying archery, fire and shelter building, ‘Survival Challenge’ or flying through the trees on our 900’ zip line, every school itinerary is loaded with fun filled adventure and some of life’s best memories. For a complete list of offerings, please visit the Programs & Activities page.

The good times are just the beginning…

Beyond all the good times and FUN activities is an underlying program focused on developing each student’s unique abilities where all students contribute to teamwork, communication, building trust, understanding and resilience which continue long after the trip has ended.

It takes a village to raise a child...

It is said “it takes a village to raise a child,” and this a responsibility we take very seriously. Each aspect of the experience is designed to play a part in that responsibility, from the design of our facilities, the curriculum connections, the personal development opportunities in our programs, and the dedicated caring staff we have to deliver the experience. Another critical component to our program is providing the students with the experience of living, sharing, and contributing to a kind, supportive community that achieves great things together from the moment they get off the bus.

The Great Equalizer

We have been helping school communities create a lasting culture of kindness and inclusion for more than 2 decades. The overnight experience is where students develop greater bonds with their peers, and a greater acceptance that we’re all more the same than any of our differences and that only through teamwork and collaboration we can achieve great things. The Camp Muskoka Leadership experience delivers all this and more!

Food - its got to be YUM!  😋

Food is a foundation of community since the dawn of time, and our mealtimes together are no different. Students will work cooperatively at meals, but all the heavy lifting is done by our trained professional food service team. Our kid-friendly meals are prepared and served by our Executive Chef and his team, with a focus on fresh, nutritious, and delicious food following Canada’s Food Guide. Three hearty meals a day (second helpings are always offered) plus snacks ensure everyone stays energized for their outdoor adventures. Most special dietary needs can be easily accommodated, and vegan, vegetarian or Halal options are also available when requested on the registration form. Camp Muskoka is a nut-safe facility. Our goal is for each student to achieve a higher level of cooperation which cannot be achieved when hungry. Our team will always strive to ensure everyone is well fed and accommodated.

Safety and Emergency Preparedness Planning

When working with children, safety is always our first priority. Once again, from the design of our physical facility to the program areas and equipment, to the selection, screening and training of our staff team, safety is our first consideration. Students will also be shown and experience a variety of preparedness planning including concussion screening, emergency fire protocol and general overall situational awareness.
